Overview of the Procurement Specialist role:
- Source goods, services, and equipment required by the agency through informal (RFQ) and formal (RFP) processes.
- Follow State of Texas and Federal Procurement policies and procedures
- Apply strategic cost savings, negotiations, and market research on all procurements
- Manage internal and external relationships by assisting stakeholder and keeping open communication with vendors and potential vendors.
- Data Entry
- Research and resolve discrepancies
- Communicate with vendors and internal customers via email and phone
Preferred Qualifications of the Procurement Specialist:
- 2+ years of purchasing, supply chain or buyer experience
- Solid MS Excel
- Detail oriented
- Ability to handle fast paced environment with accuracy
